Open Information Society (OIS) - is the republican non-governmental organization (registrations certificate #724, issued date: November 14, 1996).

OIS was reregistered in June 15 1998, in accordance with the law "About social public unions" (registration number: #582).

OIS is acknowledged to be non-profit, "social-useful" organization by the decision of The State Certification Commission of July 17, 1998.

OIS consists of 31 associated and 17 active members currently; there are also the regional representatives in Balti, Tiraspol, Stefan-Voda (Moldova) and Minneapolis (USA).

Realization of the projects for various directions has been commenced proceeding from the organization's charter tasks and with consideration of the present condition of Moldavian civil society.
