Galillee College’s International Program's

General Information

Program of Study:

The duration of the course is 3 weeks and is comprised of 150 study hours. The daily schedule is comprised of approximately 8 academic study hours a day, five days a week, including appropriate study tours.

Successful completion of course work and final exam awards the participants with a diploma.

 Tuition:

 Candidates who meet the application requirements are eligible to a TUITION SCHOLARSHIP value of US$ 3,575. This scholarship covers approximately 60% of the total cost of the course.

Local Expense Fee:

Candidates (or sponsor/organization) have to cover the Local Expense Fee US$ 2,865 + air fare to and from Israel. The Local Expenses Fee includes:

• accommodation (based on 2 sharing room)
• full board
• airport transfers
• study tours study materials
• medical insurance
• weekend excursions (visits to historical, archeological and religious sites in Israel.)

This covers all the candidate’s needs while studying at our program for the 3 wk period.

A small amount of pocket money is suggested.

Location:

The courses (+ accommodation) will be held at the Galillee College Study near the city of Naharia in the northern part of Israel.

Minimum requirements:

• first degree from university - B.A, B.Sc
• Must be proficient in English
• Hold citizenship from the country they come from
• Work (or with experience) in the area of management they wish to study.

Galillee College Intensive Three Week Management Programmes:

Since 1987, we have been training senior managers in various fields of management that cover the following areas:

• Environmental Management
• Health Systems Management
• Development of Small Businesses & Industries
• Urban Economic Development
• Management of NGOs
• Tourism Planning, Development and Management
• Management of Higher Education Institutions
• Port Senior Management

Over the years, more than 2000 administrators, managers, and planners from over 65 Developing Countries have gone through our training programmes, each of which lasts for 3 weeks.

Galillee College - International Collaboration and Cooperation

In addition to these training programmes, the College has been involved in several European Union sponsored Med-Campus Programmes, an international inter-university programme dedicated to training and research.

The history of the College since 1987 includes a high level of cooperation with Palestinian organizations. To date over 500 Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza, have completed training courses at the College. Despite the present difficulties in the peace process we continue this cooperation and currently have 30 senior Palestinian managers studying Health Management as well as 32 Palestinian senior social workers participating in our Community Development programme.

It is important to note that our International Department has in the past conducted special "tailor made" courses in each of the above listed fields. We were requested by the World Bank to conduct such courses for 4 groups of senior health officials from the Government of Romania as well a course for 25 senior directors from Russia (the course was held entirely in Russian). Additional such programmes were conducted for groups from Ethiopia and Angola.

Another of our collaborations with the World Bank is termed: Africa Capacity Building. In this special project, the World-Bank has sponsored training for senior African officers in a number of management programmes specially fit for their needs (such as Management of Health Systems).

The Board of Directors of the College has decided to enlarge the scope of our activities and has approved the establishment of a new Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution. The research and training activities of the Center will focus on issues of peace, conflict theory and resolution, Middle East studies, diplomacy and migration. The Center will be based on a network of international cooperation between universities and higher education institutes from the Middle East, Europe and the United States. Considerable interest has been expressed in the idea from such institutions as the University of Kent, Hebron University (West Bank), United Nations University, and the Stockholm Institute for Peace Research.

• MBA (focusing on development of small businesses and industries)

• MPH in Health Systems Development
• MPA (Masters in Public Administration)
